The Holy Spirit in Action

The past two weeks we have been learning about who the Holy Spirit is and how He is our best friend. This week Delores wants me to share a testimonial email with all of you that she received. In the email we can see the Holy Spirit at work.

Here is the email from September 1:

“A week and a-half ago my 5 year-old son choked eating pizza. Now, he has an intense fear of swallowing solid food. Even crumbs scare him, and he struggles to get them down. He is afraid of something getting stuck in his throat, now after eating he doesn’t want me to touch his neck. This is very weird and scary for me and my husband. My son also hates this and keeps saying he just wants to forget about his “scared feelings,” but I can’t. My heart is breaking watching him struggle with this. Please pray that God will deliver him from this constant state of fear."

Now, here are the workings of the Holy Spirit one week later:

“Praise God, he is doing great! We prayed over him twice last week, and the next day he ate a handful of goldfish, the next day he ate French fries, and he’s almost completely back to normal now! God is so good! I just put it completely in His hands, and claimed his healing before I saw any improvements, and God was faithful!”

Do you see what happens when we put all of our trust in the Holy Spirit? The problem is solved. We aren’t meant to worry about things, ever. This little boy had a fear, but his parents did their part and put the fear in the Holy Spirit’s hands. They prayed for him and claimed his healing, and he was healed. They didn’t worry about if he was going to be healed because they knew that trusting the Holy Spirit is the way to go. We must learn from this and begin applying it to our life every day. It seems hard to trust in someone we can’t see, but it’s not because we are trusting in someone who will ALWAYS come through for us.

I pray, today, that you begin to allow the Holy Spirit to take control of whatever circumstance you are going through. In Jesus name, I pray that as you release Him to take over, the situation becomes so small because you know the Holy Spirit is working everything out. He is your best friend, and he desires only good things for you. So begin to trust Him like never before, and see what He does in your life!

Love and Blessings,
Amanda Winder

The Holy Spirit: Your New Best Friend
John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

Now that we know who the Holy Spirit is, it is important for us to learn how to walk with Him every day of our lives. The Holy Spirit lives inside of us. He is the third person of the trinity. It is important for us to know the Holy Spirit is a Him not an it. We must beginning walking with Him.

Most believers take the hand of their pastor and walk with him and what he is teaching, but we are supposed to take the hand of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth. He will help us keep an even balance in our life if we are listening to Him.

When we walk with the Holy Spirit, He is speaking to us all the time. We must understand Jesus and God are not talking to us because they are in Heaven. When you hear someone say they have heard the voice of the Lord, they have heard the voice of the Holy Spirit. He is the inner voice we constantly hear speaking. Some people consider it their conscience, but it is the Holy Spirit.

As we begin to learn His voice, we start to form a deeper relationship with Him. He should be our best friend. Best friends talk to each other all the time. They commune back and forth constantly. In a relationship you should be giving 50% and the other person should be giving 50%. Too many believers talk to the Holy Spirit all the time, but never allow Him to talk back. How can we call Him our best friend if we never allow Him to speak to us? We must begin to listen to that small voice. That tug we always feel, but never really understand.

I pray that today, you begin to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. I pray that if you are holding your pastors hand or someone else’s hand, you will let go and allow the Holy Spirit to take hold. As you begin to walk I pray that the Holy Spirit begins to reveal His wisdom and knowledge to you.

Blessings,
Amanda Winder
